Visionary Kids Society came as a vision to me on December 25, 2009 when I woke up and was pondering about the meaning of Christmas as a Christian. I saw people toing and froing the village to the town looking for what to wear and what to eat. I asked myself if people knew what Christmas was. Is it all about dinning and winning, eating and drinking or wearing new clothes and living in newly painted houses. I decided to celebrate mine differently as I always did. I gathered all the little kids and we were reflecting on their meaning of Christmas. I told them what I knew about Christ is that he was born to die for the redemption of all. If so, then we as Christians should not just be happy on Christmas day because we wear new clothes, have lots of money in our pockets, are eating meat and drinking wine or soft drinks but that we are able to care for and share with the needy and underprivileged in our communities and beyond.

On January 1, 2010, I hired a van took 40 kids from the village of Kitty to the City of Banjul where some have just been for their first time in their lives in over 10 years. I took them to the Cathedral of our Lady of the Assumption, St Augustine's High School, The Arch 22, West African Examinations Council, the Beach to experience life outside of the village and care for and share with others too.

Since then, I have been taking them out at least once every month to visit new places, their schools, work in the community and participate in sports, farming and also to West Coast Radio, one of the popular FM stations, where they partake in the Kids Breakfast programme.

There they sing, dance, narrate stories, recite poems, memory verses from the Bible, give riddles and interact with other children.

On December 25th 2010, we went to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital together with some kids from West Coast Radio to spend our Christmas with the sick and hospitalized children. We prayed, sang and danced for them and later gave them gifts and words of encouragement. Since then I’ve always taken the kids to one place to another every year. contact us by using this email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
